fedo-TANK-o & The Return of the Watch Party

The Pens are bringing back the "Watch Party" for the season opener against the Sens this Saturday. Fans are invited to come to Mellon Arena to watch the game inside on the Jumbotron.

Admission is free, parking is free (first-come, first-served basis) in all stadium lots, and the concession stands will be open for business.

Ken (better known as: Cotton Candy Heeeeeeere) is listed as probable for the event. He is still recovering from selling a total of a mere 12 Cotton Candy's during Pirates' baseball season.

Doors open at 11:30 AM, and the puck drops at 2:30 PM.


Additionally, the Mellon Arena will be providing tours of the facility and family skating sessions on Saturday. Skating sessions will be held from noon to 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The event is BYOS (Bring Your Own Skates) and, unfortunately, pucks and sticks are prohibited. Ruslan Fedo-TANK-o is getting his shot on the top line alongside Sid and 666. Therrien plans to go with the Fedo-Sid-666 combination for the preseason game against Jokerit on Thursday. If they perform well together, this is the 1st line we should expect to hit the ice against the Sens during the season opener on Saturday.


Personally, I love this move. Take nothing away from Dupuis, but he showed that he doesn't exactly possess the "finishing touch" that a winger playing alongside Crosby should have last season. Fedotenko may not be that much better offensivley, but the added bonus that he played with Satan on the Island should have a good effect on the chemistry of the line.
